Just a quick update this time. Everyone
should be getting something in the mail very soon…keep an eye out. However,
there were a couple of folks we were missing; I don’t have a current address
for Uncle Willard & Aunt Nooie and the last
couple of things that I sent to Marc & Traci came back. If you don’t get
something from us this week, this means I don’t have your address, so if ya’ll could get me
your addresses, I’d really appreciate it.

Ok, we’ve got
about a year before the next reunion so things are about to kick up. Keep an
eye on your mailbox because you’ll be getting something from the reunion
committee in the next couple of week that will give you more details about the
big event!
We met this
weekend and solidified the decisions;
· The menu is Po-Folks
fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, macaroni & cheese, turnip greens,
home baked ham and homemade desserts – bring your appetite!
· We’ll
be decorating with old family photos, so if you’ve got any that you’d like
included, get me a printed or framed copy and I promise you’ll get them back.
· I’ve
made arrangements to get tours of the family homesteads on TAFB. We’ll need to
know who’ll want to be going a minimum of 6 weeks before the date so that they
can organize the transportation. I’m going to try to set up a run through to
see the location and take photos (if allowed) so that we’ll know the
restrictions as far as walking terrain, wheelchair accessibility, etc. However,
please keep in mind that the tour is dependent on security issues.
· Also,
we’re asking for volunteers to help with set-up and clean-up.
With
the Christmas Season upon us now, as it will be at the time of the reunion, I
started thinking about how lucky I was to have the family I did. Most of us grew
up having everything we needed, most of what we wanted and we so fortunate, but
as ya’ll know, there are a lot of families who aren’t so lucky so I had an
idea. What would ya’ll think about collecting toys at
the reunion and we can donate them to the local Toys for Tots? It wouldn’t be
mandatory, if you don’t want to, that’s fine. Maybe we could start a tradition
of doing this every year, even the year when we don’t have a reunion? Thoughts?

family." Anthony Brandt
